About Me

Hi There!

My name is Levi, I’m a a multidisciplinary artist and art teacher located in Eugene, Oregon. I work in a variety of styles from hyperrealistic to graphical, focusing on animals, and our relationship to the natural world. Currently I am pursuing a Masters in Nonprofit Management and am projected to graduate in 2026.

TW: Flashing Lights! I had a great time at the Stab and Shop Til You Drop event last Saturday. Despite the sprinkling of rain and it being game day we saw a ton of foot traffic. I’m happy to say that I found a lot of my people here. The talent and uniqueness of everyone’s booths was something to behold. @the_enchanted_lair and friends were the best canopy buddies a night fury could ask for. Thank you to everyone who was able to show up. It’s events like these that remind me that people still appreciate art made by real humans. This is a memorial portrait I painted of Atticus the Bald Eagle after he passed away earlier this year. At 37 he was the oldest ambassador on the CRC team. Even older than me! I fondly remember the times he would scream in my face when I went to clean his enclosure and then be mostly content to ignore me the rest of the time I was in his area. I felt so proud of him when he started willingly crating himself for house cleaning and remained calm the entire time I was there. He had bad experiences with crates and learned to hate them. It goes to show that you can learn new things no matter how old you are and you can trust again when you’re with the right people. This one took me 3.5 hours but I was messing around with it for awhile, including cloning his eye multiple times for the digital art class I was teaching. This is the second time I’ve used the legacy oil paint brushes for Procreate too and I think I’m getting used to them.

I’m not usually political with my work. I just want to stay in my corner post my silly bird pictures while silently working behind the scenes to make my community a better place. But I’m so tired of being palatable and silent. I’m on state insurance not because I want to be but because I have to be. Otherwise I wouldn’t get the care that I need. And it’s not for lack of trying. I’m working three jobs and going to school full time to make things work. But it isn’t enough. I also recognize that I’m privileged with having a body that mostly functions for now. Meanwhile a bunch of rich clowns decided that millions of Americans, including myself, don’t deserve the healthcare they require. I’m tired of listening to the hatred spouted towards me and people like me for being different. So expect more 💩like this from now on. Also help me come up with a title for this painting pls I worked hard on it. #fourthofjuly

Thank you to everyone for your support at the Art Fest today! I spent the last couple of days printing out stickers and cutting them by hand amidst preparing for finals. I was so happy to see familiar faces and get acquainted with new ones. There’s still quite a few of them left as well. It turns out you can find the time when the internet goes out for a week and you have nothing better to do. Apologies for dropping off the face of the planet again. A couple years ago I designed a vulture themed pin for a Cascades Raptor Center fundraiser. With a donation of $20 you can also get a nifty pin featuring Kali, the Turkey Vulture. The funds went to equipment that was used in their Summer Flight Show program and later for the Wildlife Hospital. Right before Spring Break I was notified that there were only 300 Kali pins left and was given the go-ahead to design a new pin. The training team has the lofty goal of raising $20,000 to cover their operating costs this year and are working hard to achieve it. After my solo show earlier this year, I realized that I needed more display easels (Maude Kerns provided a lot of them). Imagine my delight when I discovered that I had access to the DeArmond MakerSpace at the U of O campus After re-learning how to use the equipment and passing the safety quiz, I created these laser cut designs that are easy to assemble, break down and are super light. Of course they couldn’t be ordinary either. I took some patterns from Etsy and added some embellishments to each of them, going for natural PNW type motifs to match my work.
